Trouble at work, advise and action plan needed?
Right i have been working for a company for around 10 month now, and at the start it was all roses lovely people great support, however things soon turned sour. Recently all my boss does is belittle me in front of the other employees, here are a list of what i am subject to -
1. Called silver back because im a bit hairy, and bum fluff is left on toilet seat when i am done.
2. He come stands at the side of me and poops right in my face.
3. He regularly calls me a f**k pig
this is only a few things, what action can i talk because i have just moved into a flat and i can not afford to quit my job right now in this economic climate.
Oh it sounds awful. DONT QUIT! Dont let him make you lose your job. Start making a diary of what is said and done with dates and times. You can either ask him to have a chat and try and tell how upset it makes you feel when he does and says these things to you. This is an informal way of making him see how you feel. Or You can raise a grievance as it is harassment. Dig out your employee handbook and check out what their procedure is for reported a grievance. If the harassment grievance doesnt work and you really cant stand it anymore and you have to leave you can claim constructive dismissal as long as you have done everything to try and rectify the situation. Check out harassment grievance and constructive dismissal on search engine or the direct.gov site it'll give you loads of info. Good luck
