How could I add a metaphor to this piece of writting?
I remember waking up that very morning around 8.00 not knowing where I was. I felt rather disorientated. It all seemed so real at the time and as if I was really there. I remember it all clearly.
I remember laying on this beach it was on a hot sunny summer’s afternoon. Not a soul was around infact it was pretty deserted. The sky was pale blue not a cloud in sight, and I was surrounded by these long, slim, spiky palm trees. As I lay there I felt the soft, smooth, orange sand in my hands, and I could hear the sound of the waves swishing and splashing up onto the rocks.
The beach went on for miles, and was surrounded by some really nice unique shops and restaurants. I remember walking into this ‘boutique’ but walked straight out again when I saw the prices! It was very expensive, but some of the things in there were just amazing.
I remember waking up that very morning in a confused state, not knowing where I was- head clouded like a young party goer rousing wearily from a night of heavy drinking.
From the clear blue sky, the sun scorched down onto my bare arms like a dragon breathing fire onto its prey, and my eyes burned from the brightness of it. I sheltered my eyes and SCANNED the deserted beach. Far down, the slim spikey palm trees danced in the soft breeze like a formation of hula girls, but there was not a real person in sight. My only company was a tiny bird, who SURGED through the soft orange sand with all the vigour of a pirate searching for treasure. The sound of the waves swishing and splashing up onto the rocks was so enchanting that it was as if Neptune was whispering a magical call to me. I slid my feet into the wet silky sand and laughed as the water LICKED my ankles. Soon I was running, running across the beach with the sea at my feet and the wind in my hair. The beach stretched on for miles, and it was only the lure of the lavish boutiques that framed the sea front, that tore me from my Baywatch moment. A row of ALADINS CAVES- there must have been a hundred of them, all with gleaming glass fronts and fancy names giving promise that something special lay waiting to be bought within. Inside, my MAGPIE EYES spotted jewels of wonder and I squeeled with delight like a child in a toy shop, as I tried the exquisite hats and dresses, chiffon scarfs and diamond studded handbags. I knew that the prices were so far beyond any realm of possibility that I savoured the moment like the last cool creamy lick of chocolate on an icelolly.
