What best to clean a wood toilet seat?

Of course this in bathroom there is about 6 people total how use daily on and weekends we have vistors

Disinfect it first with a disinfectant then clean it with Murphy's oil soap for wood. It will restore and protect it.

Toilet seat up or down?

My wife complained for years because I would leave the toilet seat up, and then when she would get up in the night to use the bathroom she would sit down in the toilet bowl, because the seat was up and she didn't look before sitting
I told her that's like if I went into the bathroom, and didn't look before I started taking a leak, and the pee is splashing off the toilet seat and all over the wall and the floor because I didn't look first to see if the seat was up or down before I peed.
So, I got into the habit of putting down the seat when I'm done peeing, but once in a while I forget and I also put the lid down. Then she complains that she sat on the lid, instead of the toilet seat.
How common is it for people to set their bare butt down on something without even looking first?? I have to tell you that when she was in girl scouts she sat down in poison ivy to take a pee out in the woods.

I've never sat on a toilet without looking. Personally, and no offense to your wife, but I think everyone should at least take a quick glance at the toilet before using it.

However, when I was younger I was raised in an all girl house and was taught that men should put the toilet seat down no matter what. It wasn't until I worked in an all male (except me, of course) office that I decided otherwise. The first time I went into the restroom and the seat was up I came out and asked them to at least put it down when they're done. I was met with a straight answer of "Why? We don't ask you to put the seat back up when you're done."

Tell her to that snakes can come out of the toilet and that she needs to take a look before she takes a leak to avoid getting her butt bit. Whether it's true or not, it might work
