How long does a rose last?
I got one on Valentines day.. and it's been 2 weeks since. It's pink (if thatmatters) and I followed the directions and put in the food and the right amount of water. I didn't have a vase so I just grabbed an empty bottle of vodka and put the rose in there. I give it as much sunlight as possible to keep it happy 
It has started to bud more leaves (they're reddish o_O) but i didn't expect this to happen. I thought my rose would die within a week lol. so anyways, I was wondering if it would last until winter was over and if I could actually plant it. Suggestions on how to keep it alive? Thanks
I had that happen once too. If it sprouts roots, you most certainly can plant it in your garden once the ground is thawed and not too wet anymore. Roses like lots of sunshine so south and west exposures are ideal for transplanting a rose to. Roses also like it warm so make sure the temps at night are consistently in the 40's and 50's before transplanting.
Don't forget to "harden off" your rose before permanently putting it outside because it's tender from being in a controlled environment. Hardening off reduces some of the stress of transplanting. Gradually expose it to wind and sun over the course of several days. Bring it back inside each time before transplanting it to its new home outside in the garden.
